What is a holistic massage?


Massage is the oldest therapeutic tool that human beings used to provide themselves with a natural resource against pain. Through the manipulation of the superficial and deep layers of the muscles of the body, several techniques have been used, seeking to improve their functions, help in healing processes, decrease the reflex activity of the muscles, inhibit neuronal excitability, promote relaxation and well-being and as a recreational activity. Over time, different types of massages have been created seeking to provide different results.


Holistic massage arises with the idea of ​​working, not only the physical body, but also the emotional, the mental and the energetic body, based on a comprehensive conception of the person as a whole, hence the name Holistic (from the Greek holos, meaning "all"). This type of massage seeks to maintain or recover the harmony and natural balance of Being.

It is an intuitive massage, the masseur perceives what technique to apply and in which particular area, however, he follows a certain pattern or guide to apply it. The techniques used to unblock these points are bioenergetic reflexology, acupressure and Reiki.
